Mira's Story

T-shirt Design Project!

Mira's Movement needs your help with our t-shirt decorating project! The theme is “My hope/vision for kids with cancer.” It's fun and easy to participate.

Go to a local store and buy a plain white t-shirt. (AC Moore and Michael's sell individual t-shirts inexpensively or buy a 3 pack of t-shirts at a department store.) Then decorate the shirt with paint or markers. When your shirt is done, put it on, take a picture and e-mail it to Mira's Movement along with the name and age of the artist and where you live. Please also e-mail a picture of the shirt flat (not being worn). We'll post all the pictures on our website!

Our Mission

The goals of Mira's Movement are to mobilize support for increased federal funding of pediatric cancer and brain tumor research, increase awareness of childhood cancer issues, and provide resources and support for families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Mira's Story

We launched Mira's Movement in honor and memory of our daughter, Mira Brouwer, who died April 26, 2008, at the age of 4, from unforeseen complications of treatment to prevent the return of brain cancer. (more)
